I admit it...I've been neglecting my blogger duties. Maybe I have not had much to say, but more likely, I've been too busy to say it...or even more likely, not in the mood. When I blog, I take time to write. It's rare that I just throw a few poorly formulated sentences on the screen and click publish...that's such a Facebook way of doing things.
Speaking of Facebook, I'm back on the wagon. Now before you judge too harshly, let me explain my gripe with Facebook that initially caused the deactivation of my account. First, I follow and maintain a number of websites for things like blogging, bookmarking, social networking, emailing, etc. So it's a HUGE PITA to visit all these various websites and use them effectively. Facebook was the first to be sacrificed because it is a time sucker, the likes of which I have never before or since experienced.
Now here's a potential solution (or we can call it that because it's new and fun and we need an excuse to fiddle around with it). A colleague introduced me to a website called Netvibes. Netvibes is like a super powered all in one continuously updating one stop shopping miracle. I can add widgets from my email, Facebook, blog feeds, craigslist, news feeds, and a zillion other things that people have created out there. So now it's just one website. Every time I look at the Facebook widget, there are 20 other things to distract me from it, so I never spend too long. Ahh, the blessings of information overload.
And BTW...Blogger is hypothesizing that Facebook is actually a misspelling of "forsook." Hmmmm.
